Green Connect is proud to be able to offer Illawarra’s only chemical-free, free-range pork, raised in the best possible conditions.
Our pigs were raised on our permaculture farm in Warrawong, where they moved about different areas of the farm and feasted on leftover fruit, vegetables and plants – which also helps us to cultivate the soil. Our pigs are rotated so they always have fresh pasture. They live in the sunshine, roll in the mud, and act like pigs. Their addition gives us the capacity to convert food waste into meat.
They also help us control weeds and vegetable stubble in our cropping areas, without synthetic chemicals. They spare us from fungal issues that can occur from stubble build up. They fertilize our soil with manure. Their digging forces and mixes organic matter deep into the ground.
We raise them seasonally, so meat is available every 3 months.
Our pork is available if 5 or 10kg packs, but we still have some available cuts in our freezer, so if you are looking for individual cuts, bones form stock or skin for crackling, you can order that here.

How big is 5kg or 10kg of pork?
A 10kg pack fits in 25 cubic centimetres – about a third of a freezer compartment of an average household fridge-freezer.
What cuts of meat will I get?
Each package will include a roast, mince and sausages as well as one or more of the following cuts

- Pork Chump
- Loin Chops
- Spare Ribs
- Pork Belly
- Pork Bones
- 10kg packs will include a Stock and Crackling pack with bones, skin and trotters.
Can I choose specific cuts?
Unfortunately not. A pig has only so many sections that can be made into specific cuts. We want to make sure that the whole animal is appreciated and nothing wasted so we only sell mixed packs. It also means the different cuts can be shared around all of our customers.

How is the meat priced?
The price is $23 per kilogram for the 5kg pack and slightly less for the 10kg pack.
We are a not-for-profit organisation wanting to provide fair food (by which we mean it is good for the people who grow it, including that they are paid at award rates, good for the people who eat it, and good for the planet), so the price of the meat is based on what it costs us. Which means we rely on the community to buy it, so please spread the word!
