We think that its important for our youth to know where their food comes from and the work that goes into producing it. We are striving to give a friendly, informative, hands-on tour of our farm where we explain the process from seed to plant to vegetable. We will also give a basic explanation to what permaculture is and what it meant to operate sustainably.
On the tour, we will touch, smell and taste our way through Green Connect’s 12-acre farmlands, and visit the pigs, chickens and sheep who live on the farm.
The Green Connect farm has been operating for almost five years now and we are proud to say that we have transformed an urban piece of overgrown and forgotten wasteland into a luscious, thriving permaculture farm, just behind Warrawong High School.
On our farm experience, we invite young people for a 1-hour tour including a taste of something from the farm and a planted seed to grow at home. (Note: kids under 16 need to be accompanied by a parent or carer).
Group tours are limited to 20 attendees at a time.
Younger siblings are allowed to come along (under 3 year olds are free of charge), but please note that the farm is not readily accessible by a pram. We do also offer a kids farm experience which is aimed towards a younger audience.
